What homeopathy

What homeopathy is not

Homeopathy is often misunderstood. To clarify, here’s what it is not:

  • Not Herbal Medicine
Homeopathy is different from herbal or Ayurvedic medicine. While some remedies come from plants, they are prepared through a unique process of dilution and potentization, not used in crude herbal form.

  • Not Allopathy (Modern Medicine)
It does not work on the principles of suppressing symptoms like conventional medicine. Instead, it aims to stimulate the body’s natural healing response.

  • Not Just Placebo (as per homeopathic philosophy)
Homeopathy is based on the principle of “like cures like” and individualized treatment, not merely psychological belief.

  • Not Symptom-Specific Treatment
It does not treat diseases by name (e.g., “diabetes” or “arthritis”), but treats the individual as a whole—considering physical, mental, and emotional symptoms.

  • Not Quick-Fix Suppression
It does not aim to instantly suppress symptoms; rather, it works gently to correct the underlying imbalance.

  • Not One Medicine for All
Two patients with the same diagnosis may receive completely different remedies based on their constitution and symptom picture.

  • Not Toxic or Chemical-Heavy Medication
Homeopathic remedies are highly diluted and generally considered safe when prescribed appropriately.

  • Not a Replacement for Emergency Care
It is not suitable for acute emergencies like accidents, severe infections, or surgical conditions where immediate conventional intervention is required.
